Welcome to Joe Fitzgerald's Page

Joseph Fitzgerald

As some of you know I got my feet wet last year while raising $1,000 for at risk youth to benefit the Forget me not Farm foundation in conjunction with a great cycling event in Santa Rosa. That campaign was started to help those who I could and ride for those less fortunate. Those of you who donated, I want to thank you again, our impact was felt in a big way. The best part for me was finding out a few of the kids who were directly affected wrote thank you letters to me personally at the finish line of Levi's Gran Fondo. Obviously I couldn't have done it without the help of my family and friends. Together we made a difference.

This year I have made an exciting and challenging commitment to participate in YSC Tour de Pink, a three-day, 200 mile bike ride.

As most of you know, I lost my mother Cathy Fitzgerald, to breast cancer on November 9th, 1998. She fought that vicious disease with every ounce of courage and strength that she had in her body. While I'll never be able to introduce my mom to her daughter-in-law or grandkids, I can still make her proud by the way I live each and every day of my life. This year is the 20th anniversary of her passing and I can't think of a better way to honor her memory than to participate in this great event.

I also want to honor my beautiful sister in law Gloria Patricia Ortega (aka Pati). She's the kind of woman who doesn't take s**t from anyone or in this case anything. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the early age of 35. She had recently given birth to my also very beautiful niece Skyler. She has since beat cancer and raised an incredible daughter. She stands as an inspiration to all of us who know and love her. I am so thankful to her for sharing her very intimate story with me.

Also in memory of Concepcion Cervantes who battled breast cancer until her last breath on February 23, 2009. She courageously traveled from Nicaragua to America to offer a better life for so many of her family and friends. I see so many qualities of her in my brother-in-law. She raised him and his siblings to take full advantage of life.

It is in honor of these 3 people and so many more, that I want to increase awareness and support for women who have battled, are enduring, or have survived breast cancer.

YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to meet and ride with survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women affected by breast cancer. I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!

Any amount helps! Please pass this on to anyone you know that wants to help us all make a difference.

As I train for this amazing ride I plan to update this page frequently along with my social media accounts so that all of my supporters can see my progress.

Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
