Welcome to Jake Fanning's Page

Jake Fanning

Three years ago my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her strength and willingness to fight was like nothing I have ever seen. Along with the intense emotional stress I can’t begin to imagine, she endured a major surgery, chemo treatments, radiation treatments and two more major surgeries. Throughout the treatment and surgeries all I was able to do was support her as best I could and let her know I was here for her. I knew I would never be able to relate or imagine the pain and fear she held inside. She persevered through it all and is now cancer free. She is a Bad Ass. Last year she not only participated in, but completed the 200-mile West Coast Tour de Pink. She is an inspiration to our family and friends. This year to show my support for not only my wife, but my daughter and the thousands of young women who may someday hear those horrible words, I have made an exciting and challenging commitment to participate in this year’s YSC Tour de Pink. It’s a three-day, 200-mile bike ride for breast cancer. I know I can do it with your help encouraging me and supporting me with a donation.

Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness, and support important programs for young women affected by breast cancer. I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!

Your donation will directly support Young Survival Coalition and ensure that no young woman faces breast cancer alone. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. YSC is the only national nonprofit that solely focuses on serving young women under the age of 40 affected by breast cancer. YSC serves over 8,000 women each year with support and education to be their best health care advocate throughout all stages of breast cancer including: diagnosis, treatment, and long-term survivorship.

Cancer can be a very isolating disease, and especially so for a young woman who may still be finishing their education, starting a career, and building her romantic and family life. YSC’s supportive services include: in-person support groups around the country, online video support groups, one-on-one peer mentoring, creation and distribution of free educational materials for survivors, co-survivors and healthcare providers, a training program for survivors to amplify the need for expanded research and advocacy, and an annual conference called the YSC Summit. Read more about YSC here:

You can view YSC’s audited financials and annual reports online here:

How will your donation help?
$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as a peer supporters.
$500 could fund a survivor advocate in our RISE training program
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.

Any amount helps!

As I train for this amazing ride with my wife, I plan to update this page frequently along with my social media accounts so that all my supporters can see my progress.

Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
