Kaitlyn Hanna

Hi everyone! I have decided to sign up for Tourdepink west coast in hopes of being able to ride for my second year. As most of you all know this year I was diagnosed with a reoccurrence to my brain. The doctors were optimistic that surgery and radiation would clear the cancer and I would be able to get back to my "normal" life but after an MRI in March, results revealed my cancer has spread to my spinal fluid. I'm now in the fight against leptomeningeal disease which is terminal. Ive known since April of 2015 my disease is incurable but I continued with hope and determination to prove the odds. I was lucky enough to have almost 3 years with no evidence of disease and I am still continuing to live my life to the fullest with faith, positivity and hope. Since the beginning of January 2018, I haven't been able to do any of my favorite physical activities such as running, cycling or anything that gets my heart pumping.. Today, I have set my goal and decided to sign up for Tourdepink in hopes of riding side by side with my friend Cindy who I met last year during my first tourdepink ride in 2017 west coast. I will be riding for my dear friends PattyLou Means and Samantha Kaplan. I attended my first YSC conference and signed up for tourdepink with Sam in 2017 in hopes of crossing the finish line with her by my side. Unfortunately, Sam was not well enough for the ride and Samantha valiantly lost her battle to leptomeningeal in December of 2017. Theres nothing I want more than to cross that finish line once again and raise money for my fellow young breast cancer fighters and survivors. If you can donate in any way or share my page your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated. 200 miles on a bike is by far one of the most challenging rides of my life but nothings harder then fighting metastatic breast cancer, not once, but twice at the young age of 24 and 27.. #fuckcancer

This year I have made an exciting and challenging commitment to participate in YSC Tour de Pink, a three-day, 200 mile bike ride for breast cancer. I know I can do it with your help encouraging me and supporting me with a donation.

Your donation will go to support Young Survival Coalition and ensure that no young woman faces breast cancer alone. YSC is the premier organization providing supportive services and education resources for young women affected by breast cancer.

YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women affected by breast cancer. I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!

How will your donation help?

$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as a peer supporters.
$500 could fund a Young Empowered Survivor (YES) educational program.
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.

Any amount helps!

As I train for this amazing ride I plan to update this page frequently along with my social media accounts so that all of my supporters can see my progress.

Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
