Welcome to Phoebe Tillem's Page

Phoebe Tillem

In 2015, at 24 years old, Kaitlyn Hanna was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. For the last 3.5 years, my best friend has blown me away with her unyielding strength and perseverance. Earlier this year there was a reoccurrence in her brain and an MRI revealed her cancer had spread to her spinal fluid. She has been diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease, which is terminal.

Kaitlyn is a warrior. Despite an unimaginably trying year, she continues to battle her cancer, while also fighting for everyone else affected by this disease.

Last year, Kaitlyn completed the YSC Tour de Pink, a three-day, 200 mile bike ride for breast cancer. YSC, or Young Survival Coalition, is the premier organization providing supportive services and education resources for young women affected by breast cancer — young women just like Kaitlyn.

I am honored to ride with her this year (and more than a little concerned I’ll be able to keep up). For my friend, and all the young women who are supported by YSC, I ask for your help. To participate in this ride, I have a fundraising goal of $3,000.

So, how will your donation help?

$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as peer supporters.
$500 could fund a Young Empowered Survivor (YES) educational program.
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.

Any amount you can give is so appreciated and nothing is too small. Thank you in advance for your love and support.
